I am a biodiversity scientist interested in understanding and conserving the diversity of life at multiple evolutionary and spatial scales. As Chief Scientist at Natureserve, I lead a talented and dedicated team of ecologists, taxonomists, and biodiversity information scientists in the application of biodiversity knowledge to resource management and conservation. NatureServe collects, curates, analyzes and applies highly reliable information about the status and trends of over 50,000 threatened and endangered plant and animal species across the Americas. NatureServe integrates this biodiversity data with spatial layers such as climate, environment, and land use to provide context to resource management decision making. My own research interests focus on conservation biogeography, particularly the influence of a changing climate on current strategies for protecting biodiversity.
