In partnership with the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative and Landsong Heritage Consulting Ltd, I am working on the development of a comprehensive, web-accessible geo-database for the Peace River Break region of Northeastern British Columbia, Canada. Building upon and integrating existing information, this geo-database will provide a publicly accessible and relatively easy to use system to centralize, access and analyze information from multiple sources, bringing together science-based information with traditional and local knowledge to inform and support conservation planning and implementation strategies for the Peace River Break, including identifying areas of high conservation value and special management, areas of high habitat quality for key species and movement corridors.
