This is an master version of all hydrometric gauging station locations (provincial and federal) within Saskatchewan based on the best available information. The feature points for most "SWA" stations have been better positioned based on manual interpretation of SPOT 2.5 m and SGIC 60 cm colour imagery, and confirmed by SWA dwg site plan drawings. The rest of the SWA point locations that were not confirmed by dwg drawings were plotted based on Lat/Longs from the Water Survey of Canada online database (http://www.wsc.ec.gc.ca/hydex/main_e.cfm?cname=StationList_e.cfm.), and then re-projected into UTM. Most of the WSC point locations were not moved. Their locations were derived from the Lat/ Long coordinate system, and then re-projected to UTM. In situations where multiple location sources did not place the point in the exact same location, a best judgment was made, and one point choosen. The best point was choosen based on how close to the river/stream or water body it is, how accessible it is to a roadway or trail, and to which side of the river/stream or road it would most likely fall on.
