This
GIS dataset is part of a suite of wildlife habitat connectivity data produced
by the Washington Wildlife Habitat Connectivity Working Group (WHCWG). The
WHCWG is a voluntary public-private partnership between state and federal
agencies, universities, tribes, and non-governmental organizations. The WHCWG
is co-led by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) and the
Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT). The assessment of connectivity for the
Okanagan-Kettle subregion is led by the Transboundary Connectivity Working
Group (TCWG), which includes the WHCWG as well as members from agencies,
organizations as well as independent biologists from both sides of the border. A final report concerning this project,
including analysis methods, is expected at a later date and will be available
online at: http://www.waconnected.org. The TCWG GIS connectivity products are
organized by five fracture zones: Highway 97 North, Highway 97 Central, Highway
97 South, Highway 3 East, and Highway 3 West. All raster layers have a 100
meter x 100 meter cell size.
