Description:
Polygons with predicted probability of occurrence > 0.4 (from predicted probability of Sierra Nevada red fox occurrence) and area > 150 sq km (approximately 5 female home ranges). Areas with urban or open water cover types and slopes > 80% were removed.  Areas within 3.09 km of one another were considered part of the same core.

Predicted probability of Sierra Nevada red fox occurrence layer was provided to CBI by Casey Cleve (Cleve, C.T. 2008. Using GIS to predict potential Sierra Nevada red fox habitat. Master’s Thesis, San Francisco State University).
