Landscape-Scale Conservation Plans

This ecoregion covers the montane regions of Southern Washington and the cascade region of Oregon. This region is dominated by mesic coniferous forests. More information about the ecoregion can be found here.

Significant parts of this ecoregion is owned and managed by the US Forest Service. The Northwest Forest Plan provides a foundation for cross-jurisdictional conservation and resource management in this ecoregion.
The Oregon Conservation Strategy (2016) provides an overview of conservation targets and limiting factors in this region. Their Compass mapping tool is a way to interact with the Critical Habitat Assessment Tool (CHAT) data and see where Conservation Opportunity Areas exist in the region. For the Washington part of this ecoregion, the Washington State Wildlife Action Plan (2015) also provides information ecological systems and associated wildlife in the region.
