Dataset for Forest Retention Index, category Very High for year 2060. This dataset includes all currently protected (including fee simple and permanent easements) lands that is currently forested. Protected areas were compiled from Protected Areas Database-U.S., National Conservation Easement Database, state databases and GIS clearinghouses, and non-governmental organizations' volunteered information about recent acquisitions. Status of current land cover was determined with the most recent National Land Cover Database (2011).
