The Tennessee Heritage Conservation Trust Fund Act of 2005, was a cooperative project of the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to assess the conservation needs of Tennessee and to "assist the state in permanently conserving and preseving tracts of land within the state of Tennessee for the purposes of promoting tourism and recreation, including outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing; protecting, conserving and restoring the state's physical, cultural, archeological, historical and environmental resources; and preserving working landscapes." This dataset represents tracts of land that were identified for protection, conservation, and restoration.
