This layer displays the approximate range of the Porcupine Caribou Herd.
The original range map was drawn by Fran Mauer, USFWS - Arctic Refuge,
based on radio-telemetry locations and historic knowledge of movements
of the herd. Isolated dispersals, such as movements into the Central
Arctic herd area to the west, were not factored into the map. This
range map is a best guess approximation and is not based on any
statistical analysis.
