Desert Focal Species Lists - High Probabilities of Occurrence

Mar 27, 2017 (Last modified Jun 8, 2017)
Description:
This dataset represents a composite of high probable occurrence statistical species distribution models, expert models, and mapped occurrences for nine DRECP desert habitat focal species:

  • Alkali mariposa lily
  • American badger
  • Desert horned lizard
  • Desert kit fox
  • Desert tortoise
  • Golden eagle
  • Joshua tree
  • Le Conte's thrasher
  • Mohave ground squirrel
Models used for this stack include statistical and expert species models created by Conservation Biology Institute, USGS, and Frank Davis' UCSB Biogeography Lab.

The high probable occurrence statistical models used for this composite were created by using the continuous Maxent output and by increasing the threshold value by 75%. A mask of unsuitable areas was extracted from this dataset.
