- Description:
Ag + Open Space intersected channel and floodplain areas (from riparian dataset; Tukman Geospatial, July 2019) with the Sonoma County Fine-scale Vegetation Map for the purposes of developing a priority riparian habitat layer for the Vital Lands Initiative. Riparian habitat within the riparian corridor was defined as water and native vegetation classes within the channel boundary, and native forest or native shrub vegetation classes within the floodplain. Additionally, in-stream gravel bars were manually classified as riparian habitat using the barren and sparsely vegetated class. Non-riparian habitat was defined as agricultural land cover classes, impervious surface classes, non-native forest and woodland, and herbaceous vegetation, as well as gravel pits along the Russian River.
