Description:
Riparian areas were filtered from CalVeg data.  CALVEG (Classification and Assessment with LANDSAT of Visible Ecological Groupings) creates a map product from a scale of 1:24,000 to 1:100,000 using source imagery from the year 1998 to 2007.

For a description of CALVEG and a data dictionary for codes in this database, go to the Existing Vegetation Layer Description at http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/r5/landmanagement/resourcemanagement/?cid=stelprdb5365219.
