Description:
WJLS - West James Lagoon Stream, Kenai Fjords National Park, high-density Sitka spruce with alder and willow. Understory is primarily rock/boulders. Could not enter forest due to dense shrubs and the amount of water flowing through the stream. Shrubs of alder and willow are thick in stream channel valley surrounded by dense conifer Sitka spruce on the hillsides. Mounted recorder at the edge of shrubland and the end of a ghost forest of (spruce?) snags that were preceded from the lagoon by grassy salt marsh. Stream moderately fast flowing and expands out into an alluvial fan of small and thin braided streams. Deployed 6/23/2022 to 8/18/2022.
