Boundary for the Klamath Siskiyou study area

Aug 30, 2010 (Last modified Sep 8, 2010)
Dataset was used in a scientifically peer-reviewed publication
Description:
With its extraordinarily high biodiversity and physical heterogeneity, the Klamath-Siskiyou ecoregion warrants and ambitious conservation plan founded on scientifically defensible goals. The region is well-suited to an approach that combines the research and planning tracks of special elements, representation, and focal species. This multi-faceted study is ongoing, with additional focal species studies and socio-economic analyses. This dataset is a result of special elements and representation analyses and of research on one focal species, the Pacific fisher (Martes pennant pacifica). The report "A Science-based Conservation Assessment for the Klamath-Siskiyou Ecoregion" was prepared for the Siskiyou Regional Education Project in May, 1999.

Developed by CBI by first delineating primary region by Diller’s bedrock geology enlarged to the nearest subwatershed based on 1:100,000 hydrology layer.
