Invasive Species Observations

Dec 18, 2020 (Last modified Jan 21, 2022)
Description:

These data are a collection of fifteen invasive species collected by citizen scientists as part of the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden project, Fire Recovery and Community Science. Invasive species are designated from the Cal-IPC rating systems.

To gather these data, over 180 local citizen scientist volunteers are mapping over 300 miles of local trails and roads that were affected by the Thomas and Whittier Fires. This data was specifically captured for the project using the iNaturalist platform to capture observations and leverage the community to confirm species information, as well as upload photos.
