Description:
Vegetation and land cover for Bear Valley NWR. This dataset was created as part of the Comprehensive Conservation Plan for the Klamath Basin Complex. The dataset was created through interpretation of 2014 NAIP imagery, with expert knowledge from refuge staff and ground based observations. It was created by classifying 2014 National Agricultural Imagery Program imagery. The NAIP imagery was divided into segments using eCognition software and then classified into land cover categories based on field observations and expert knowledge. The field observations were conducted in October 2014. The vegetation categories are based on the National Vegetation Classification (www.usnvc.org) and the field attributes include the Group/Macrogroup and Associations that best fit the vegetation data.
