The information about parks, ecological reserves, and protected areas represented in this view can be used to support a variety of purposes including, but not limited to: land use planning processes (e.g. Forest Stewardship Planning); statutory processes (e.g. free miner notification under the Mineral Tenure Act); and timber supply review processes. The parks, ecological reserves, and protected areas represented in this view are a subset of the Crown tenure types held in the Crown Land Registry system (Tantalis). This dataset is a spatial representation of BC parks, ecological reserves and protected areas. Legal description of these boundaries can be found through the legislation or order in council describing the boundaries and any accompanying official plan.
