Description:
These data represent the most current roadless area defined by National Forest Proclamation boundaries.

Roadless areas are described here as a combination of designated Wilderness Areas from PAD-US (CBI Edition) version 2.0 and roadless areas identified by forest in the datasets described below:
  • Sierra NF and Sequoia NF, Suitable lands for National Wilderness Preservation System (NWPS)
  • Lassen NF, Proposed Wilderness Areas
  • Stanislaus NF and El Dorado NF, USFS Roadless Areas
  • Plumes NF and Tahoe NF, The Wilderness Society TNF 2017 Roadless Inventory
These data were aggregated together into a single Roadless Areas file and identified by National Forest using the National Forest Proclamation boundaries.
