Description:
The purpose of this project is to implement acoustic bat monitoring protocols described in A Plan for the North American Bat Monitoring Program (NABat) at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), New Mexico. The NABat Plan provides guidance for conducting bat monitoring on a continent-wide scale, including acoustic monitoring. The plan is designed to allow for standardized methodology and analysis to be conducted across North America, allowing for broad inferences of bat populations and trends.

Bat Conservation International (BCI), specifically BCI's Subterranean Program, was subcontracted through New Mexico State University (NMSU) in 2014 to implement the NABat Plan at WSMR.

Bat detectors were deployed on a rotating basis at these sites during March through November 2016.
