This dataset consists of two layers:  Kern County Williamson Act, and Kern County Williamson Act Non-Renewals.  The two datasets were grouped together for display on Data Basin.

Summary: The Williamson Act was enacted in 1965 by the State of California in an effort to preserve agricultural land and open space. This layer contains parcels currently maintain active status in the Williamson Act and Farmland Security Zone contracts.

Description: Represents data for the year 2010, for which the Subvention Report was submitted to the State of California in October, 2011.
