Description:
AKOATS, Alaska Online Aquatic Temperature Site is a project being led by the University of Alaska's Alaska Natural Heritage Program. It is funded by a grant through the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) on behalf of the Western Alaska Landscape Conservation Cooperative (WALCC). It is a statewide inventory of recent, continuous aquatic (stream and lake) temperature monitoring sites. AKOATS is using a standardized set of attributes to allow scientists and resource managers to compare sensors across large geographies and multiple agencies.

We are cataloging historic (past), current (present), and potential (future) temperature monitoring sites.
