The Conservation Vision is a consensus map of areas within the Gulf Coast region that are of highest priority for protection and restoration of natural areas and resources as identified by 30 land trusts operating under the auspices of the Partnership for Gulf Coast Land Conservation/Land Trust Alliance. The maps and recommendations included within the report are meant to serve as a guide to land trusts, public resource agencies and private landowners to assist in identifying significant lands for protection through land purchases, conservation easements or long-term voluntary agreements with landowners. These science-based maps of shared priorities among land trusts are meant to be referenced and shared with organizations and individuals within and beyond the conservation community, including stakeholders, residents, landowners, elected officials, community leaders, business leaders, funders and other decision-makers working together on Gulf restoration. At least two PGCLC organizations operate in the identified priority areas.
