This 1-km resolution raster represents the estimated percent presence of the soil restrictive layer in the upper 55 centimeters of agricultural land, and spans the conterminous United States. It is one of four rasters that make up the entire soil restrictive layer dataset. The other three represent the estimated percentage of the soil restrictive layers present in the upper 25, 35, and 45 centimeters of agricultural land. These rasters were developed from selected criteria of soil parameters from the Soil Survey Geographical (SSURGO) database and mapped agricultural land from the National Land Cover Database 2001 (NLCD 2001), version 2
Layers in this dataset are based on combinations of the following options.
You may choose from these options to select a specific layer on the map page.
