This dataset provides an estimate of landscape resistance, based on the extent to which human impacts such as urban development, linear development, natural resource extraction, and agriculture have disrupted the landscape across the study site. Resistance values are low in areas where these impacts are low.
This dataset was originally created to characterize anthropogenic barriers to animal movement and emphasizes linear features in terms of impact on the landscape. Additional model refinements includes stratifying road impacts by TIGER class, (e.g. different weighting for different types of roads).
