About

VEMAP II (Vegetation/Ecosystem Modeling and Analysis Project Phase 2) was the first project comparing the responses of dynamic global vegetation models (DGVMs) to two transient climate change scenarios (CGCM1 and HADCM2SUL) using
the Is92 emission scenario. The models simulated year-to-year variability of the carbon budget while dynamically changing the distribution of vegetation types and allowing for natural disturbance (wild fires) over the conterminous USA. In this gallery, we make available the projections by the MC1 DGVM resulting from this project.

Note that we have added a file as an attachment to this gallery to provide the list of vegetation types that are simulated by the vegetation model and the category number that is associated with each type. When using the identify tool this will be useful to match number and name of the vegetation type.
