About
The Sagebrush Manager & Climate Information Research Group is a
collaboration of Oregon and Idaho BLM sagebrush land managers,
Conservation Biology Institute climate scientists and an Oregon State
University Natural Resource Management research intern. The research
project ‘Packaging Usable Climate Change Information for
Sagebrush
Country’ has received funding from the Bureau of Land Management. The
first objective of the project is to gain first-hand knowledge
from BLM land managers in Oregon and Idaho about the type of climate
information
used in sagebrush management. The second objective is to understand what
type
and format of climate change information managers can use to manage for
sustainability and resilience.
This group has been created to
aid in the information exchange
between sagebrush land managers, climate scientists, and project
research. Within this group collaborators can access and upload content
pertinent to Oregon & Idaho sagebrush, and can view present climate
model tools as examples of what may or may not be useful forms of data
presentation.
Land managers are encouraged to browse and utilize the information and
data herein, as well as add any information, data, maps, images, or
articles that may enhance the understanding of what information is
needed from climate scientists to help management decisions.
