Sonoma County Wildfire Resilience Planner

About

Sonoma Water, Conservation Biology Institute, Pepperwood Preserve, and Tukman Geospatial have partnered to support strategic investments in fuel load reduction and the long-term resilience of Sonoma County watersheds.

The partnership is creating the Wildfire Resilience Planner, a decision support system that combines the latest science and spatial data with guidance from the community to map out locations where the reduction of fuels will best protect lives and property, community infrastructure, ecosystem services, and the region’s biodiversity.

The tool, scheduled for release in June 2022, will support collaborative planning and fund-raising for projects on public and private land, helping to leverage all efforts for a more unified, cohesive, and strategic approach to wildland fuels management.

The Wildfire Resilience Planner together with the Sonoma Fuels Mapper comprise the Sonoma County Wildfire Risk Reduction Decision Support Framework.
