For my Study of the Midland property Project, I was given study site #2. It stretches from Figueroa Mountain road to the Art room and all the way to the entrance gates of the barn. The school uses this area for various things such as the farm to grow food for the school, the field which is used for sports, and the school also parks most of their vehicles in area #2 as well. Andrew, John Isaacson, and Christopher Barnes also live in this Area of the Midland property. Study site #2 is located on one major type of geological formation. This formation is QPc or Paso Robles formation. In this study area there are two major plant communities. The creek runs through the middle of the study site and is a riparian community. On both sides of the creek there is an oak savannah and on the southern border of my study site there is an oak woodland. Most of the native plants in this area live around the creek and in open fields next to the farm and Family School. Some of these native plants include Valley oaks, Live Oaks, Willows, and Mulefat. Some landmarks in area #2 include Alamo Pintado creek that runs through the middle of this area. Other notable landmarks include the farm, rez road, and the baseball field. Some of the points I have chosen are the Baseball field, the chicken coop, the bouncy bridge across the creek, a valley oak tree, Mulefat in the creek, and a couple other notable or cool landmarks in the area.
