This map shows Site 3 (38 acres) which is the area on the campus of Midland school near the horse barn including the arena, Gina’s house, the Alamo Pintado, Res 1, Green gate, the All Saints Day picnic tree, Mulefat, sage scrub, tree stump and the big oak tree. Roads include Figueroa Mountain road and Res road which both run through the area. The study area is on the Paso Robles formation. The land is a combination of oak savannah, riparian zone, oak woodland, sage shrub, and other small bushes. It includes the Alamo Pintado Creek which is a habitat for many different plants and animals. There are trails within the area such as the cross country course. The horse barn is used for the Midland horse program. The surrounding area is home to 16 horses.
