Description
This map is meant to show the correlation between how well an area can fit amphibians and the average annual rainfall in that specific area. The general trend is that where there is more rain, there is a highers suitability for amphibians. This is because amphibians need water to survive, so without much rain survival will be a struggle. Although not visible in this map, the areas with more rainfall and a higher suitability are mountainous, while the dryer areas are flatter and at a lower elevation. This demonstrates the way mountains tend to bring more rain than other surrounding areas, which in turn mean that in Santa Barbara County, mountains provide a higher suitability for amphibians than lower elevation areas.
