For this map I chose to mark points displaying where in Santa Barbara I have lived. The Mission Canyon and Montecito houses are where I grew up from the ages of 0-4. The address for the Montecito house is not accurate as in 2004 a few weeks after we moved out at the house was sold, it was washed away by a mudslide. Aside from the Tornoe address the the other two addresses are my dad's former and current houses. The datasets I chose were the Poverty and Pollution density percentiles. On the valentines day looking datasets the darker is the worst pollution and the Highest amounts of poverty, whilst the light pink or white are the most pristine and richest ( ahem Hope Ranch and Montecito). These Datasets made this a truly humbling experience of seeing the privilege I had and was surrounded by growing up in a safe and clean part of the world.
