Description
Land cover for the world derived from MERIS (MEdium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer) satellite data for the year 2009, at a spatial resolution of 300 meters. The GlobCover Land Cover product is the highest resolution Global Land Cover product ever produced and independently validated, derived from an automatic and regionally-tuned classification of a time series of MERIS FR composites. It was released in December of 2010.
