EN2 Rating of the TUD Ditch system. - Biological Rating 0 . No biological resource value, does not support habitat for plant or wildlife species.
1. Minor or nonexistent leaks from the ditch, minimal or no wetland vegetation. Wetland
vegetation is nonexistent or exists only within a narrow band inside the ditch. No riparian or
wildlife habitat and minimal biological resources value. Used as a biological corridor and
source of late season water.
2. Wetland vegetation exists within the ditch and outside the ditch from 1 -3 feet. Sparse
riparian and wildlife habitat. Some sporadic biological resources exist. Used as a biological
corridor and source of late season water.
3. Spreading wetland vegetation from the ditch from 1 -5 feet. Wetland vegetation is more
diverse and provides niche habitat for various wildlife species.
4. Wetland vegetation is very diverse and abundant, and mostly native species are found
here. Wildlife habitat is good quality and supports a variety of species and habitat for nesting
and foraging birds is present.
5. Habitat exists for special status plant and animal species. Wetland vegetation is very
diverse and abundant. Wildlife habitat is excellent. Habitat exists for nesting and foraging
birds. Occurrences of threatened, endangered, or sensitive species are possible.
