Description
The Illinois Valley forests are home to abundant wildlife - deer, elk, black bears, mountain lions, spotted owls, marbled murrelets, red tree voles and rare amphibians.  The US Fish and Wildlife Service designated 20% and 25% percent of federal forest lands as critical habitat for the recovery of northern spotted owl and marbled murrelet respectively.

This map shows the various habitat datasets and lands designated as critical habitat.    It will be updated with habitat suitability data in the future.
