Description: This map contains the relevant spatial data from several sources that highlight the areas in the State of Quintana Roo where fishing practices are restricted.
Red areas do not allow any fishing activities whilst green areas restrict fishing to single species (eg Lobster) or catch and release sports fishing.
Most spatial restrictions on fishing are part of the MPA network zoning. Some restrictions are fish refuges (refugios pesqueros), a Fisheries Agency management tool.
