Description
This map shows the areas around Spirit Lake with numerous land attributes we used for conservation decision making. We prioritized the areas with high cropland and areas close to impaired water ways. We considered the areas on the west side of Spirit Lake to be of higher conservation need than the east side of the lake because that area has more land for conservation acquisition potential, which would also include water quality services. The east side of the lake had less water impairment and had more conservation areas, which we considered to have less of a conservation conservation impact (that area is already well protected).
