Description
The map looks at current Wolverine habitat and the least-cost path to connect some of these areas. Overlayed with a current map of protected areas in US and Canada it helps us understand the current level of protection for these animals compared to their habitat range. By adding a map of predictions of climate change velocity by 2080 I hoped to see which corridors offer the best option for connecting protected areas and how climate change may influence these areas. I identified an area between two groups of protected areas in US and Canada which also have substantial Wolverine population. There is a medium threat to this area because of climate change and expanding current protected areas may help Wolverine populations move between these two areas instead of becoming isolated due to climate change.
