Description
The varieties of life in the ecosystem are shaped in large part by the variety of the physical landscape. The physical landscape includes topography (elevation, slope, and aspect), bedrock and surface geology, macro landform, and major aquatic elements, climate—collectively called “enduring features”. It is the template upon which organisms grow, diversifies, and combine, creating different ecosystems.

Using or combining features models was developed to quantify landscape structure and support an assessment of the rarity and variety of physical signatures within the study area and its physiographic sub-region. Additional spatial analyses summarizing these features may help farmers or local management of the mutual assessment influence of landscape and biological features of each physiographic sub-region for sustainable choices.
