Description
The Piedras Blancas, CA IBA occupies 144,681 hectares of pelagic open water habitat. The IBA is located in the Northern California ecoregion. The IBA is located just north of San Simeon on the central coast of California. The site is well known for a large large elephant seal rockery.
It is owned and managed as: federal-other, and has the following primary uses: fisheries/aquaculture-other, military-other, tourism/recreation-other, and ports.
