This 3 layered map outlines the 32 North Cascades Grizzly recovery regions with WA protected areas and projected velocity of climate change. The areas that I selected to be potential areas of focus for conservation efforts are largely based on these overlapping factors. The three red areas mark areas with higher velocity of climate change over a number of combined recovery regions. These regions could offer up collaborative efforts to solve conservation issues in a larger region. Two of the areas are focused near the US/Canada border because there could be opportunities to collaborate on an international level. Methods and approaches that may have already been taken by Canadian agencies could serve as valuable information to shape management and conservation practices in the North Cascades. Lastly, the blue area indicates an area within the range that shows vulnerability due to its lack of government protection and proximity to urban areas. This could be an opportunity to raise public awareness about restoration and conservation efforts with the North Cascades.
